Gresham, Oregon- Mrs. Mildred "Jackie" Branch Norris, age 90, formerly of Lenoir, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 in the Powell Valley Assisted Living Community in Gresham. Born March 11, 1920 in Catawba County, Mrs. Norris was a daughter of the late Luther Graham and Margaret Franklin Branch and the wife of the late George Boyd Norris.
Mrs. Norris was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir and a graduate of Lenoir High School. She had worked as a Customer Service representative with Broyhill Industries and served as a volunteer with Caldwell Memorial Hospital.
Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Biederman and 3 brothers, Graham Branch, Byrd Branch and Robert Branch.
She is survived by her son, Richard Norris and wife Lisa of Gresham, OR; one sister, Margaret Brown and husband Wilburn of Lenoir and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A celebration of Mrs. Norris’ life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 10, 2010 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Lenoir with Dr. David Smith officiating. A private interment will take place in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM in the Church Parlor of First Baptist Church.
